Florida Drug Rehabilitation Center

Florida is a very suitable area for international drug traffickers and money laundering organizations; it is a primary thoroughfare for cocaine and heroin transfers to the northeastern United States and Canada. Florida has over 8,000 miles of coastline and the short gap of 45 miles between the Bahamas and Florida provide almost unlimited opportunities for drug trafficking organizations in using maritime vehicles to smuggle illegal substances. Miami International Airport (MIA), which is also a gateway for heroin and MDMA trafficking in the state, continues to be the top airport in the U.S. for international freight and the third in the world in total freight.

South Florida, Miami-Dade and Broward counties in particular, are still the favored areas for drug traffickers in the smuggling of considerably large quantities of cocaine, heroin and marijuana into the continental United States from countries like South America, Central America and the Caribbean. Smuggling is done via various types of maritime vehicles and cargo freighters, as well as the usage of private and commercial aircrafts. Additionally, there is a continued transference to ground transportation on standby, like buses, trains, and cars as the mode of transporting the illegal substances throughout the state and to destinations in the north. Miami is the head domestic command & control hub for Colombian dangerous drugs traffickers.

The Colombian traffickers are the greatest international threat to the Miami Field Division (MFD). MFD enforcement units are in a continued attempt to cripple the transportation infrastructure of Colombian traffickers within the Eastern Pacific, the Caribbean and Florida. Florida spearheads the nation in MDMA seizures.

In spite of all the effort invested by the state of Florida in alleviating the importation and distribution of illegal drugs, a considerably large amount do slip through the grip of the Miami Field Division; and at that, many people are still in peril of addiction and substance abuse.

To help alleviate this problem, Florida has established drug rehabilitation centers, spread throughout the territory, ready to assist the people who have fallen victim to the products of people, aimed to enrich themselves, at the cost of many innocent lives.

Mission Statement
Tri-County Human Services endeavors to provide a wide array of high quality human services, in accordance with the needs of the community. The services are all provided in a cost effective, ethical, and professional decorum and focuses on improving the quality of life of all the people the center serves.

Philosophy
Tri-County Human Services, Inc. (Tri-County) have all its programs operating on the philosophy that substance addiction is a primary, chronic, progressive, and ultimately fatal disease if untreated. The agency accepts the concept that substance addiction adversely affects all the areas of a person’s life, which includes their interpersonal relationships, vocational/educational abilities, the emotional well-being, and physiological health.

Tri-County does not strictly adhere to any one prevalent theory regarding substance addiction and its treatment. On the contrary, the facility’s staff understands that addictive disorders are most often caused by a combination of several factors, including the unique genetic origin of the person, their emotional and psychological influences, cultural perspectives, and behavioral reinforcement. The Tri-County staff understands that drug addiction is an illness affecting the whole family in which each member of the addicted person’s immediate and even their extended family is touched by the behaviors and attitudes of the addicted individual. In keeping with this philosophy, the center’s treatment teams highly encourage family participation during the treatment process.

The agency recognizes that many of the clients served by the facility also have a concurrent mental health disorder. Like substance abuse cases, mental health problems can trigger severe dysfunction in a person’s life, especially in the areas of normal day-to-day living skills, interpersonal relationships, as well as vocational or education skills.

It is preferred that these dually diagnosed patients are given simultaneous treatment of both disorders. Residential treatment is available for dually diagnosed clients who haven’t favorably responded to outpatient treatment programs or whose severe symptomology contraindicates outpatient care.

Tri-Country Core Values
In keeping with the integrated mission statement, TCHS has adopted its essential core values that drive all the decisions regarding the direction and program development for served clients, and agency staffing.
