Other than the renowned Narconon Drug Rehabilitation Centers, there are also other facilities providing state funded substance abuse rehabilitation services. Drug addiction rehabilitation can run through from $1,500 to as high as $7,800 USD in some states, depending on the procedures of treatment. It is always good to know, that there are still a few facilities, providing quality care, virtually free of charge.
At Keystone Treatment Center, each patient is individually assessed to make certain that their needs will be met. Individual therapy, group therapy and family sessions provide each person with opportunities to learn, understand, and practice the new skills needed in the recovery from chemical dependency.
The center also offers special drug treatment tracts, such as methamphetamine dependency and inhalant abuse and programs for dual diagnosis, as well as Native American and other programs. Drug dependency treatment should be an extremely individualized experience. No two people have identical needs, and the facility is constantly striving to make sure that the ever changing needs of their individual clients are adequately addressed.
The center’s treatment and recovery center is designed to feel like home. It is an atmosphere trickling with quiet dignity and comfort, set on a vast 30 acres of shaded grasslands, 25 miles from Sioux Falls, in the rural community of Canton, South Dakota.
Most medical insurance plans cover all or part of the cost of the wide choice of treatment programs. Keystone is eligible as well for South Dakota state funded patients, Title 19, Indian Health Service funds, and Rule 25 funds in Minnesota. The center’s Help Line is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and provides immediate assistance with an admission or crisis situation.
Keystone Drug Rehabilitation Programs
Adult Drug Rehab Programs
The Keystone's adult drug rehabilitation programs are for adults with ages 18 and over, and provide a caring and safe environment in addressing substance abuse and other related issues. It is the mission of Keystone to provide the highest quality treatment to all individuals the facility serves. The staff is committed to administering the treatments in an atmosphere of love and trust.
Young Adult Drug Rehabilitation Programs
Treatment for clients between the ages of 17 and 22 is geared toward the problems addressed in separating from home and becoming self-directed. Young adults are starting to make their own decisions and commitments that will inadvertently determine the path of their future. Keystone strongly believes that these patients require special guidance in setting their goals and learning the new and necessary skills in living a meaningful productive life.
There are two programs for young adults:
• Young Adult Inpatient Drug Rehab Program
• Young Adult Outpatient Drug Rehab Program
Adolescent Drug Rehab Programs
Keystone’s adolescent program is specially designed for patients who are between the ages of 13 and 18. The adolescent program is gender specific; boys and girls are given treatments separately. If the client is aged 17 or 18, and depending on their level of maturity, he or she may be assessed for placement in the young adult program.
There are two programs for adolescents:
• Inpatient Drug Rehab Program
• Outpatient Drug Rehab Program
Special Tracts at Keystone Treatment Center
Keystone firmly believes that all treatments should be a highly individualized experience. Each person has unique needs to be addressed. Keystone has put together models of specialized treatment tracks for a few of these needs. The center is constantly striving to assure that the constantly changing needs of the patients are adequately met. Stated below are some of these special tracts.
Cognitive Deficits-Fetal Alcohol Conditions
Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) is a medical condition with symptoms pertaining to physical and behavioral disabilities resulting from heavy exposure to alcohol prior birth.
Dual Diagnosis
Keystone is very much aware of the delicate balance that is necessary to effectively treat clients exhibiting dual diagnosis. Mental health needs cannot be ignored and set aside while treating addiction, nor can addiction be ignored or set aside during the treatment of mental illnesses.
Inhalant Abuse
Keystone also provides treatment for inhalant abusers as well as all other types of chemical addictions. Inhalant users usually have additional needs to be addressed, and may include cognitive problems.
Methamphetamine Treatment
Since this drug has an extremely damaging nature, Keystone's methamphetamine treatment tract includes a full psychological assessment and, if required, the center’s resident psychiatrist may recommend the intake of short term anti-psychotic medication.
Native American Tract
The Keystone Treatment Center actively promotes the identification and recognition of Native Americans afflicted with the disease of addiction. The facility recognizes the unique nature of the Native American culture and is sensitive to their traditions during their treatment process.
Pregnant Women
Keystone believes that abstinence from either alcohol or drugs is critical for a healthy mother and baby. While pregnant, obtaining treatment as early as possible is very important in order to avoid the possibility of the baby suffering from Fetal Alcohol Syndrome or Fetal Alcohol Effects.

While choosing the drug rehab it has to be made sure that all the aspects of what caused the addiction problem in the first place have to be addressed.
