There are quite a number of rehab centers in Houston Texas, but there’s one that comes to mind, The Right Step. The facility has been delivering affordable, quality treatment programs to those who are in need; and has been doing so since 1990, and licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
Their mission is to provide, the highest quality of care, for victims of addiction and their families. In a caring fashion, and without burning a hole in your pocket.
The Right Step is nationally recognized as "simply the best at what they do" by the National Association of Addiction Professionals. Throughout the industry and within the community, The Right Step continues to set the trend, and is a major contributor to the positive transformation of lives, destroyed by addiction.
The History of The Right Step
The Right Step began in 1990 as a halfway house for men. It continued as a small, single-site facility until George Joseph, CEO, in 1994, joined the operation. He brought with him, concepts of proven clinical skills and a fresh approach to the implementation of quality care. Most importantly, George brought his unwavering vision and dedication to addiction recovery. With George leading the team, supported by a skilled clinical and administrative staff, their vision took form. Today, The Right Step is the largest private provider of treatments on chemical dependency in the Southwest.
Treatment Customized for You
The Right Step recognizes how devastating addiction problems are to families and their clients, and understand how it is a unique experience for every person and family. They offer a broad range of treatment programs, versatile enough to cater to your individual needs.
Step 1: Free Screening and Assessment
This is your first step, after you make a call, drop by and visit; The Right Step will help you in designing your unique treatment program.
Step 2: Sub Acute Detoxification
Detoxification is usually the first program in the treatment. Sometimes your body needs time to withdraw from the physical effects it suffered from alcohol and other drug addictions. While you are in the Detoxification Phase of treatment, you will be under the direct care of the Medical Director and the Director of Nursing. Medical staff work with each client individually to ensure this delicate process is as comfortable as possible. Each body is unique. That is why customized care is so important. Usually within one to three days, detoxification is complete, and your treatment team will recommend the next level of care.
Step 3: The Choices
At this stage of the treatment, you are offered, and assessed for your unique treatment program. There are many choices available.
a. Residential Inpatient
The residential inpatient program takes effect in a comfortable community setting and could last from 5-30 days. Within the walls of the facility, you will learn how to make positive changes in your life and flourish without drugs and alcohol. You'll also be able to connect with other recovering people who are part of your community. The Right Step’s multi-disciplinary treatment staff makes use of the Structured Program Track, based on a 12-step recovery principle and a proven medical model.
b. Day Treatment
The facility offers a day treatment program for people who do not need 24-hour care. You will participate in the Residential Inpatient Program Activities, but will spend the night at your own home. Your day at The Right Step begins at 8:00am and ends at 9:30pm, everyday during the week.
c. Intensive Outpatient – Return To Life
The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) offered by The Right Step is perfect for people who are ready to face the world, they return to work, school or other responsibilities. Every week, 10 hours is spent in the program with a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. The programs are offered through a network of convenient locations. Schedules vary from one location to another, with day and evening times available.
The Next Step
Transitional Living
Rehabilitation treatment does not have to end with the completion of the main residential treatment or intensive outpatient treatment programs. For clients who require more support, the next level of care is offered, through our transitional living program for men and women; this is appropriately called “Next Step”.
Recovery Maintenance Services. The Journey Goes On.
A no-cost 18-month program of support, counseling and referrals is provided for you once you successfully complete any program within The Right Step network. Their Recovery Maintenance Services groups meet in convenient locations every week, and are conveniently located close to where you live and work. You will always stay connected with others who are in the process of recovering, learn about the support systems available in the community and form close bonds with people who are just as active in their recovery programs.
Teens and Adolescents. Change is Possible.
The Right Step program for teens and adolescents is called “Changes” and the program is offered on both residential and outpatient basis. Changes also represent the acronym for community, habits, activities, neatness, goals, education, steps and summaries. The staff knows from experience, that recovery for alcoholism and addiction is only achievable when a person is encouraged to make the necessary changes in their beliefs and behavior.
These goals are accomplished using a proven, successful treatment methodology called Structured Tracks. Additionally, we focus on a small client-to-staff ratio. That means you'll get the precise attention and care you need in a safe, structured and disciplined setting. Also, during the school year, an education program is provided for middle and high school students, and is accredited by the Houston Independent School District.
While choosing the drug rehab it has to be made sure that all the aspects of what caused the addiction problem in the first place have to be addressed.
