Born September 5, 1973, to Terri and Daniel McGowan (both of French and Irish origin, respectively), Rose Arianna McGowan is the second eldest of six siblings. She was raised, until the age of nine, within the Italian chapter of the Children of God; an extremist Christian, anti-American cult. During the early 80s, her family severed ties with the community and migrated to Eugene, Oregon, USA. Following her parents divorce, Rose relocated to Gig Harbour, Washington, to live with her grandmother. At age 14, McGowan was falsely accused of drug abuse by a family friend and committed to drug rehabilitation. She has consistently maintained that the decision was unjustified, and detrimental to her mental health. Upon release, she spent a year as a disadvantaged youth before legally declaring Independence from her family at age 15. Her early formal education includes attendance at Roosevelt High School, and Nova Alternative High School. Further education includes a stint at UCLA, and qualifications as a licensed beauty operator. McGowan's career as an actor sincerely began in 1995, with a leading role in The Doom Generation. Originally intended for Jordan Ladd, the character of Amy Blue was awarded to McGowan, whose presence outside a gym captured the eye of an associate of director Gregg Araki. For her performance, she was nominated at the 1995 Independant Spirit Awards for Best Debut Performance. Subsequently cast in Wes Craven's Scream (1996), she experienced further success when the project defied expectations to became one of the highest grossing films of the year. The innovative, yet soft-sounding, career of McGowan was overshadowed throughout much of the 90s by her high-profile relationship with musician Brian Warner. Strong performances in Going All the Way (1997), Lewis & Clarke & George (1997), Southie (1998), and Jawbreaker (1999) were largely unseen by the general public, who favored mean-spirited tabloid blurbs over her creative exploits. When the relationship ended between the two in 2001, she remarked; "There is great love, but our lifestyle difference is, unfortunately, even greater" Immediately, the quality of McGowan's roles further improved. She performed solidly alongside Alan Alda in The Killing Yard (2001), shone with Robert Forster in Strange Hearts (2001), and was appropriately demure in Stealing Bess (2001). She was introduced to the mainstream as Paige Matthews in Aaron Spelling's Charmed, a popular television show for which she devoted five consecutive years. When Charmed finished its run in 2006, McGowan emerged in top form. Critics praised her efforts in Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror (2007), Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof (2007), and her turn as Grace Sterrin in 50 Dead Men Walking (2008) exemplified her potential as a leading dramatic actress. At the time of writing, McGowan and director Robert Rodriguez are due to be wed. Her upcoming projects include the fantasy epic Red Sonja, due 2009. **Text used is typed below** This vid is here to compare God with a Placebo and the Divine Healing of religion as nothing more than the Placebo Effect. I'm using some basic Psychology to do this. There is no God. I'm hoping to show many what the Placebo Effect is and how faith in God can bring about healing without the God being real. I look forward to future video responses to this vid in order to enter into debate with, or to support my claims with further evidence or compliments. If you're planning on a video response and would like for me to clarify anything about the vid or any of the subjects at hand, please let me know via PM, and I'll be glad to clarify for you or answer any questions. Please let me know what you think. And yes, I've actually been researching this quite a bit for a research report, so I know damn well what I'm talking about. ***Here's the text used: Hello. My name is Shadow. Today we are going to be discussing how religion is nothing more than the placebo effect in terms of so-called divine healing. The placebo effect is simply the measurable observable or felt improvement in health or behavior not attributed to a medication or a treatment that has been administered. The placebo itself is the fake medication that has been administered. What a Placebo does is increase the individuals expectancy to get better. This belief the individual holds actually helps them to get better. The effect works by ones neurochemistry. Ones neurochemistry is affected by sensory experience and thought rendering it vulnerable to a Placebo. The neurochemistry directly affects multiple biochemical systems, such as the immune system. This in turn explains how introducing a placebo to a patient in the proper format can bring about a physical change in ones body. If the neurochemistry can directly affect ones biochemical systems and a placebo can directly affect ones neurochemistry, then a placebo can indirectly affect ones biochemical systems. This being said, you should now have a clear understanding of what the placebo effect is and how it works. Now lets start showing how religion is nothing more than the placebo effect. Many faithful attribute things such as beating drug addiction and alcoholism, as well as things such as fighting disease and illness, to God. They claim that their faith in God is what helped them through it. This statement is 100% true. It was their faith in God and nothing more. The placebo effect relies on the faith one has that the medication will work, even if the medication is nothing more than a sugar pill. In other words, God does not heal anyone rather the direct faith alone is the healing source. An argument could arise that the things healed by placebo medication are nowhere near the severity of the problems that God can heal. The explanation for this is simple. If the belief itself is what causes the healing, then the greater or stronger the belief the greater or stronger the healing power. I believe it is safe to assume that one engages in much stronger faith in God than in any medication. Therefore, with a much stronger faith in God, larger problems can be overcome. This shows us how God does nothing for us and there is no proof of God healing anyone, because the only healing that occurs within religion is brought on through the faith alone, rendering their God nothing more than a placebo and their divine intervention nothing more than the placebo effect in action. Thank you for taking the time to listen to this message. I hope to have opened some eyes here today or night. If you have theories in contrast to my claims please feel free to post a video response in debate against me. I look forward to the reaction from and future dialog with my fellow Youtube community. This has been Shadow, and once again thank you for your time. -Hail Satan!

2 of 2: Faith Dixon came to the UK when she was 11. Her mother went with a man who started molesting her. She told her mother and was thrown out onto the streets at 13. She then went through about ten different children's homes. Violence began to mark her behaviour, she chopped one of the male workers in the neck for coming into a room of 5 girls and did three months in the block. When back out on the street, her parents wouldn't take her in, even when her appendix burst on the street. When her social worker wouldn't give her a suit she chopped him in his neck, and she wound up in a mental hospital secure unit. Fed pills from morning till night, she didn't know where she was or what time it was. When she got outside she got married, had a kid, but the life of always being on the move staying in a different place had affected her. She wound up in prison, and when she came out got into crack via her boyfriend, and that was it, smoking bare crack and more crack. Travelling to New York, eventually in the darkness, she met a guy called brother Alex, who came in to talk to the addicts about Jesus. She let him take her to a rehab place, cos she had cut up, and got so so miserable by this point. She was in the miry clay, deep down and sinking sinking. A drug addict with no place to stay. Going to church, she realised that God must have had a hand in her life, in preserving her life on sooooo many occasions. One time later, a Christian said to her, "The Lord wants you, you know. Stop running away." At that time she was drug dealing and going to a church giving some money into the collection, but running from the things of God. Coming back to London and a smaller church, she found out all that God had planned for her, his love, the inheritance she had in heaven, and it began to effect her. She got some opportunity to share her life story in prisons, and felt blessed by at last being able to help people and encourage them. As she gained a new mindset, and the 'renewing of her mind' through the Word, she began to look at things - the past, and the future - in a different light. Now she's got Jesus Christ, her Lord and Saviour, and she doesn't need to worry, people are jealous of such a shepherd whose looked after her. "I'm not where I should be, but I'm not where I used to be I'm on my way." Jesus is the same yesterday today and forever, what he's done for Faith, he can do for you and yours.
